The jungles all about me,
green and wood the scene,
Tangles, vines and underbrush
lie crumpled in the green.
Tigers, snakes and elephants,
monkeys climb the trees.
And I can't find the pathway
with this jungle fever freeze.
I'm tangled in the vines,
I'm tripping o'er the stones.
The snakes have come to meet me
and I'm stranded all alone.
The tigers
roar above me,
the elephants have run
And the jungle fever's caught me
and I think I've come undone.
Fever rises like sharpened knife
to wound my weary brain
And all the jungle animals
have driven me insane.
The fever's made me crazy,
its defeated all I've seen.
Its messed up my dreams,
belief and mind
and everything's all green.
As the animals turn and stare
at me
lying, dying there
at me burning, turning cold
and if they cared, it never showed!
