This is a simple marionette stage. If you get a large box, something that a stove or dishwasher came in, you can cut open one side, leaving a two inch border at the top for your curtain, which would be the front of your stage. If the stage is tall enough it can rest on the floor or it may be raised onto a low standing table. The back of the box would be used for your scenery, which could be slid in as needed.
