Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!
by Linda A. Copp

"Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!"
Yes, it's that turkey time of year!
When the gobblers known as turkeys
wish they all could disappear.

"Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!
Thanksgiving's getting much too near."
Say the gobblers in there gobbling,
turkey talking loud and clear.

" Gobble, Gobble Gobble,"
through wired fences you can hear
turkeys, squawking, squabbling,
whining, wailing in your ear.

" Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!"
Now, they're screaming out in fear.
"You must help Us, You must Hide Us!
You must Get us out of here!"
This Turkey is in Hiding!

They want to jump their fences
traveling miles in greater length'es
and it certainly makes senses
for the turkey population census,
to make haste for any buses,
any means away from Us'es.
Taking trains and planes, they rushes
as they fumes and frets and fusses.

Squealing, "Gobble, Gobble Gobble,
how we wish our wings could fly!
We would be staying airborne
until Thanksgiving Day passed bye!

Maybe show up in July!
"H'mm, or we could all just comply
with a Thanksgiving dinner of
cranberries, mashies, corn,
NO ME

and
pumpkin pie Pumpkin Pie?"
