A Drought

Kept
By Linda A. Copp

There's a whisper in the trees,
a shadow no one sees.
A thought lost in my head
and some words, I wished I'd said.

But when the whisper passes,
the shadow falls, away,
And the thought within my head is dead,
it's the words,
the words, I wished I'd said.
