Lemon drop candies fell out of the sky
Falling like raindrops, splattering by.
They covered the ground in a yellowish hue
Turning the gray skies to yellow and blue.
So, I grabbed my raincoat and ran out to play,
To gather those candies that fell down that way.
And there in my sandbox and tiny pail, red --
Stood the bittersweet candy, I had wished for instead
Of the cold icy raindrops that had fallen all day,
And kept me inside, interfered with my play,-
These golden sweet goodies of sugar had come,
They'd fallen from heaven, a gift of the sun!
