About Punxsutawney

Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania is the Home of Punxsutawney Phil,
 its most famous citizen. Phil is a Groundhog with a mission, known as
"the Seer of Seers, the Sage of Sages, Prognosticator of Prognosticators and Weather Prophet Extraordinary"
His mission is to predict the weather.

He takes center stage at Gobbler's Knob on February second, in the early a.m. He is placed in a heated burrow beneath a simulated tree stump on the stage there. There he waits till 7:45 a.m. when he is brought out to make his prediction. All eyes focus on him as the great gathering of folks from all over await the outcome!
