A Wooden Bridge
The Bridge Is Out

By Linda A. Copp

"The bridge is out," came the woeful cry.
"Its washed ashore," and the ravens fly.

Ravens

"The bridge is out and there's no escape."
And the children's children stand and wait.

Apostles come and prophets go,
and no one really seems to know,
Dark Castle
That castles wait beyond the trees
and no one sees, and no one sees.

"The bridge is out, the bridge is out.
The seas are swelling all about."

And the children's children stand and wait,
There's no escape, there's no escape!
