Spent all my copper pennies
on puppet shows and friends.
I spent all my private treasures,
on less than treasured ends.
And now, my pocket's empty
and I can't say as I know why.
Cause it was worth every penny gone,
to do the things I try.
It was worth every game, I gave
every word I threw away,
To see them smile a little bit,
own happiness a day.
Now, I've no more pennies,
and I don't know any more games,
And, I'm wondering why happiness,
Won't smile back just the same.
